Ramen Girl - A bowl of ramen noodles, it has many meanings. Not just regular noodles, but can tell you about the pain, joy and life's journey of the ramen noodles maker.

For Abby (Brittany Murphy), the figure of a girl who does not have a purpose in life. She will never think that she will learn about the life from a bowl of ramen noodles when shoe come to Japan. Abby real purpose to go to Japan is to meet Ethan, her boyfriend.

She never thought that in order to travel and live in Japan need a big cost. And in Tokyo, she should lose her lover. Ethan so easily says that he has a job to be done in Osaka.

From her small apartment, Abby saw small store that sell ramen (typical Japanese noodle). The ramen Store attracted her, because everyone who came out of from the ramen place came out with a variety of expression. As if like enlightened on the ramen store.

The Ramen shop is run by a husband and wife, Reiko and Maezumi, they did not understand English. And when one night Abby came into the ramen store and crying because her lover left, Reiko and Maezumi misunderstood by Abby presence.

Reiko and Maezumi considered Abby is hungry, that's why they give Abby a bowl of ramen. Maezumi also refused to be paid by Abby, Maezumi thinks Abby is like poor foreign that run out of money in Tokyo.

For Abby, who enjoyed the sense of ramen suddenly feel her heart changed. She is getting a happy feeling after she eats ramen. After that Abby always come and come again to eat the ramen noodle.

Every time Abby come she always wonder, Why every time guests finished eating ramen they always be happy???

So Abby was interested in learning to make ramen. She expressed her wish but Maezumi still wrong to accept her intentions. Maezumi think Abby just foreign people that need a job. So Maezumi ask Abby to come to her shop at five in the morning and Abby agreed.

In the end Maezumi understand Abby desire to learn to cook ramen. But still, the cultural clash between East and West still occur. So clearly illustrated that the freedom to make ramen from Abby was not pleased Maezumi.

Ramen and it was not made so easily. Ramen must be made with feeling, emotion from the maker. Even cooking it must absorb the soul of the ramen maker. Finally Abby start to understand the philosophy of life!
